ABOUT ME
Forbidden Colour is Andrew Pothecary
I've been in Tokyo since 2006, my second stay in Tokyo.
Before that I was art editor of Create, The Daily Telegraph's commercial section, in London for 4 years. As art editor I worked on all aspects of the design, redesigned the paper's commercial tabloid newspaper supplements (right), managed the design team and worked for clients who included car companies like Toyota, Range Rover, Citroen; tourist boards including Australia, Hong Kong, England, Japan; businesses like Vodafone, Xerox, American Express; beauty and household companies like Clinique, Lancome, Harrods; and many more. The Daily Telegraph was Britain's biggest selling quality paper with 900,000+ readers.
From 1999-2002 I was art editor of the new business and technology magazine J@pan Inc in Tokyo. I was employed from London to design the monthly new technology and business magazine and I originated the design and continued monthly layout and production of all aspects - covers, features, sections etc. (During that time I also wrote and researched a page on Japanese artists who use technology - see a PDF sample of some from 2000-2001 here [1.6Mb] )
